Silchar Medical College and Hospital is going to celebrate the 78th independence day and 57th foundation day on 15th August 2024 and it is a method of immense pride and Glory for all of us. In this endeavour we are looking forward to improve our quality of services for patient care and trying to improve the standard of our academic activities. This is an ongoing process and needs support, help and cooperation from all learned faculties of this esteem institute as well as support from all categories of staffs of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Silchar. In this respect I would like to highlight few of the measures taken from our end in the field of patient care services like uninterrupted emergency services including ECG and appointment of second neurosurgeon Dr. Alok nath. As well as reopening of Medicine and Surgery emergency services in the trauma centre, setting up of Lactation management centre, generation of Aadhar card for newborn, expansion of cash counter for senior citizens and PMJAY and very soon we will be able to provide State of the Art 20 bedded cardiac ICU with the support of district administration.

In the process of improving our academic standard a new NELS lab with all adequate infrastructure already been established. Digitalisation of all lecture theatre halls with smart boards and high quality sound systems are underway. It is a proud moment for all of us that our students are maintaining a good standard in both undergraduate and postgraduate level and 10 of our students got admission in the super speciality subjects in reputed institutions.

I am thankful to all categories of staffs for cooperating and helping me with their unparallel support to upgrade our esteem mother institute.
