Department of Forensic Medicine

The department of forensic Medicine, Silchar Medical college imparts UG and PG medical training as well as conducts medico logical examinations.On an average the department conducts700 post mortem examinations and 300 other medico logical examinations like age determination, examination of sexual assault victims etc in a year. It is a post graduate department and the no of PG seat in the subject is 3 (three). The PG degree in Forensic Medicine is recognised by MCI.

Construction of a state of the art Mortuary complex is going to be completed soon which will boost the services rendered by the department, to a great extent.
