Department of Community Medicine
The Department of Community Medicine is located in the Basic Science block of the institute. It has student’s laboratory, a museum, departmental library and a demonstration room for the students.
ACADEMICS:
The department is involved in UG training course. In addition to regular academic activities like seminars, journal clubs etc the faculty members are also involved in different research projects. Publications in National Journals are made by the faculties. CME workshops are organized by the department from time to time. Other Important activities of the department include Family Adoption Program, health camps and community outreach activities.
FAMILY ADOPTION PROGRAM:
The Family Adoption Program has been conducted by the department of community medicine for the past 3 years. This program aims to provide comprehensive health care to the community. Every year each student adopts 3 families for his/her rest of undergraduate program. This program includes regular health check-ups, health education sessions and management of common health issues. Faculties and students actively participate in the program.
